Mangalore, Mar 25: The sleuths of Anti Rowdy Squad led by inspector Vinay Gaonkar have arrested one person for possessing a revolver on Thursday March 23.
The arrested A J Mathai alias Mani (44), son of John, a resident of Shibaje in Beltangady is an agriculturist by profession. He was also running a timber business at Shibaje.
However, the police said that Mathai had bought the revolver for self protection as his business involved handling of large amount of money. But he had not secured a license to possess the same. He had bought the revolver from a person from Udane.
He was caught in the city while trying to sell the pistol since he was not in need of the same anymore after having stopped the timber business recently.
