Udupi, Mar 25: A pedestrian was crushed to death when a speeding KSRTC bus knocked him down on National Highway 17 near Kaup Marigudi here on Friday March 24 night.
The deceased has been identified as Suresh (35), a resident of Lakshminagar here. He was walking beside the road on Friday night when the KSRTC bus going to Dandeli from Mangalore ran over him.
As a result, he sustained serious injuries and died even before he could be taken to the hospital.
It is said that he had come to his wife's house at Kaup and was on his way to the market on Friday night when the accident took place.
Suresh was a construction worker by profession.
The Kaup police have registered a case in this regard.
