Delhi election candidates by Oct 31: BJP

New Delhi, Oct 29 (IANS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) may select its candidates for the Dec 4 Delhi assembly elections by Oct 31, senior party leader Sushma Swaraj said here Tuesday.

"On Oct 31, there is an election committee meeting for the selection of candidates for Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. Along with them, Delhi's candidates may also be selected," said the leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha.

"Around 100 meetings will be held before the Delhi assembly elections," she added.

Sushma Swaraj said she will visit Madhya Pradesh, Rahjasthan and Chhattisgarh in November but also help in the Delhi elections too.

Elections to the Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan assemblies are scheduled Nov 25 and Dec 1, respectively, while the two-phase elections in Chhattisgarh will be held on Nov 11 and 19.

Earlier, Sushma Swaraj launched the revised edition of a book "A tale of two drops" written by party's Delhi chief ministerial candidate Harsh Vardhan at the party office here.

She said the Delhi BJP leaders will make the state Congress-free as they made it polio-free with their sustained work and effort.

The original edition of the book, released in 2004, depicted how the original Pulse Polio campaign was conceived by Harsh Vardhan in Delhi in 1993. The new edition shows the present condition.
