Mangalore, Mar 26: With the arrest of another person accused in the vehicle theft racket in the district, the police suspect operation of a wide network of vehicle thieves. A hard nut to crack, the police are now in search of several involved in the racket.

The Mangalore South police have arrested one more in connection with a vehicle theft racket here. The accused Abdul Hakeem (29) of Kukkavu House, Kadiru Dwara in Belthangady taluk was arrested on Nellikai road near State Bank of India main branch here.

Hakeem was arrested on March 22. The police seized a Toyata Qualis vehicle in this connection. He had reportedly sold the vehicle to Devadas of Madikeri.

On March 19, police arrested Mustaffa of Krishnapura here and Zakrai of Badagara in Kozhikode and recovered stolen vehicles from them.
