Mangalore, Mar 26: Privatisation of education can become fatal to the nation’s development as value education here becomes a deficiency, said chairman of Nitte Education Trust, N Vinay Hegde. He was speaking after inauguration the decennial celebrations of Karavali Group of Colleges at the college premises near Kottara Chowki here on Sunday March 26.

The Karnataka State has maintained high standards in education which is attracting foreign students. The vocational courses offered here are in high demand and thus serious effort must be made to monitor the quality of education, Hegde said. 

In the absence of the JD (S) state president M P Prakash, Brahmavar MLA K Jayaprakash Hegde presided over the event.


MLA and state youth Congress leader Dinesh Gundu Rao too participated in the celebration said that liberalistion, globalization and privatization has brought revolutionary changes in India. Tremendous opportunities are now available for the youth and must be harnessed, he said.


Founder president of G R Education Trust S Ganesh Rao, Karavali Group of Colleges directors Latha G Rao and Venkatesh Rao, principals Prof Akshay Kumar and Vishalakshi were present on the dais.

Grand festivities marked the decennial celebrations which also included cultural programmes by the college students. The evenings Cultural Fest was inaugurated by National General Secretary of JD (U) Sripathi Rao. The rank holders and those who have attained excellence progress in academics were honoured on the occasion.

The premier college has plans to begin new courses including B P Ed, D Ed, Speech and Hearing and BBM.
