Udupi, Mar 27: Allen C A Pereira, erstwhile general manager with Syndicate Bank in Manipal, has been appointed executive director of the Oriental Bank of Commerce by the ministry of finance of the government of India.
Pereira had joined Syndicate Bank in 1973 as an officer and rose to the post of the general manager in 2002.
Having served in different fields like planning, development and marketing, he headed the Delhi zone also. In 2003, he became the GM of the personnel department.
Incidentally he succeeds M D Mallya, another Mangalorean, who has just taken over as CMD of Bank of Maharashtra.
