Udupi, Mar 27: Condemning the Maharashtra government decision to withdraw police protection to tainted 'Encounter Specialist' Daya Nayak and his family, ZP passed a resolution to demand the Maharashtra government to take back its decision.

The resolution was passed during the ZP meeting held on Monday March 27 which was presided over by ZP president Shankar Poojary.

It was a unanimous decision by the members of the Zilla Panchayat.  The members criticized the Maharashtra government's apathy towards Daya Nayak and his family.  Members demanded the government to provide Daya Nayak and his family with police protection as there could be danger to their life.
