Mysore, Mar 28: The Deputy Manager of South India Paper Mill in Thandavapura Industrial Area in Nanjangud taluk, died when his motorbike hit a parked lorry from behind on Nanjangud main road near Bandipalya on Sunday March 26 night.

The mishap occurred when K M  Basavaraju (40), a native of Kutta in Kodagu, was returning to the city at around 8 pm.

While he neared Bandipalya, two vehicles - a lorry and a Toyota Qualis  - were parked haphazardly on the roadside while the drivers were involved in verbal duels over the head-on collision of their vehicles.

Basavaraju, who was coming on his Suzuki Samurai , failed to notice the parked lorry as it had no reflectors on the rear and hit, sustaining severe head injuries.

Though he was rushed to K R Hospital immediately, he breathed his last at 8.45 pm.

Rural Police Circle Inspector Kantharaj visited the spot and has taken the lorry and car into their custody and are investigating.

Basavaraj leaves behind wife Pavana and son Sameeksha.
