Mangalore, Mar 30: National level coastal trekking organized by Dakshina Kannada district unit of Indian Scouts and Guides was inaugurated on Wednesday March 29 at the Scouts Bhavan here. The trekking was inaugurated by noted entrepreneur Kudpi Jagdish Shenoy.
Speaking on the occasion he said that these kinds of national level trekking programmes by youngsters will help them to get to know about various cultures, traditions of our country and will help towards achieving national integration.
Deputy Director of the fisheries department Suresh Kumar scouts and guides regional organizing commissioner and camp leader Arun Sarkar, district commissioner I A Kairanna, Aron D'Cunha, secretary Ram Shetty and others were present on the occasion.
A total of 96 Rowers - Rangers students, guides and officials are participating in the trekking.
