Kalam wishes space scientists on Mars Mission

Chennai, Nov 6 (IANS): Former Indian President A.P.J.Abdul Kalam Tuesday greeted the Indian space scientists on their successful launch of Mars Orbiter in the intended orbit.

"The Mars orbiter of India is a great mission of a 400 million km journey which has commenced today (Tuesday) successfully. My best wishes to the entire ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) team for this achievement," he told IANS.

"I am confident that ISRO will cross the challenges in the mission Dec 1, when the orbiter is given trans-Mars injection and it escapes from the Earth's sphere of influence. I wish ISRO to succeed many more times during the Mars orbital mission with its technological strength and achieve the desired mission objectives," Kalam added.
