Ram-Leela dragged to court

Patna, Nov 8: A court case has been slapped on the movie Ram-Leela for having a pious title coupled with a mujra song and thereby allegedly hurting the feelings of devout Hindus.

The case filed in the court of Judicial Magistrate R K Yadav, has been posted by the judge for the 11th of this month. Further to this a plea has also been filed in a local court demanding a ban on its release scheduled for the 15th of this month.

The court case was filed by Amit Arya with his lawyer Kumar Shankaram. The "Ram chahe leela" song has been described as being obscene and a poor reflection on the Hindu god Ram. Ranveer had been in the city last week for the promotion of Ram-Leela.

Ranveer who plays Ram in the movie adapted from Romeo-Juliet has been seen to be promoting the movie even on popular TV show Bigg Boss Saath 7 alone as actress Deepika Padukone was unable to join him.

It remains to be seen how these hurdles will eventually effect the release and acceptance of the movie Ram-Leela.
