Modi wishes Advani on his birthday

New Delhi, Nov 8 (IANS): Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi Friday wished party veteran L.K. Advani on his birthday. He turned 86.

Modi met Advani Friday morning before leaving for a rally in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, and presented him a flower bouquet.

The meeting between the two lasted for 15 minutes.

Advani was born Nov 8, 1927, in Karachi, now part of Pakistan.

"Best wishes to Advani ji on his birthday. He is always an inspiration for us," Modi tweeted before meeting the BJP leader.

Advani had resigned from the party when Modi, his once prodigy, was elevated to the post of election campaign manager of the party.

He was pacified later, and the two have since been seen on the same stage together on several occasions.

Modi was formally announced BJP's prime ministerial candidate in September. Advani has since also endorsed him.
