Six years in Bollywood, Sonam thanks fans


Mumbai, Nov 8 (IANS): She started her journey with "Saawariya" and Saturday will mark Sonam Kapoor's six years in filmdom. She attributes it to her fans' love and support.

“Saawariya” released Nov 9, 2007 and Sonam took to Twitter to express her gratitude for the love which has been bestowed upon her all these years.

"Tomorrow (Saturday) will be six years in the movie industry! Thanks to all of you I'm still around. Lots of love guys," Sonam posted on the microblogging site Friday.

This year she has given two big hits - "Raanjhanaa" and "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" and currently the actress is busy shooting for the remake of the 1980 film "Khubsoorat" that was directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee and starred Rekha and Rakesh Roshan in the lead roles.

'Banana' takes John to school

Actor-turned-producer John Abraham has chosen Loyola High School, Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, to shoot his teenage film "Banana".

The actor visited the school and even posted a picture on Twitter.

"At Loyola high school, Jamshedpur. Our next production 'Banana'," he posted on the microblogging site along with a picture of him addressing a number of students.

The film's story revolves around a young boy who tries to deal with the experiences life hands out to him and John believes that the film will appeal to all age groups.

Aditi praises 'Sholay 3D'

It seems the 3D version of Ramesh Sippy's action drama "Sholay" promises to be a more enjoyable experience. Actress Aditi Rao Hydari, who watched the latest version, is praising it to the skies.

"Watched 'Sholay' on a big screen in 3D! This is a masala film in its full glory! Epic film, epic characters, and epic writing," Aditi posted on Twitter Friday.

A landmark film in the history of Hindi cinema, the 3D version of this 1975 Amitabh Bachchan-Dharmendra starrer will come out Jan 3 next year.
