Congress has no other work except tracking me: Modi

Raigarh, Nov 15 (IANS): Taking a jibe at the Congress for attacking him for his speeches, BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi Friday said Congress leaders have nothing else to do except tracking him.

"Congress leaders sit in front of TV sets to see what Modi is speaking," the Gujarat chief minister said at a rally here.

"Congress has nothing else to do, either they look for gold or they look for Modi," he said.

The assembly elections in Chhattisgarh are being held in two phases. The first phase was held Nov 11 for 18 seats that saw 67 percent voter turnout, while the second phase is scheduled to take place Nov 19.

Modi once again slammed Samajwadi Party leader Naresh Agarwal's comments that a tea vendor cannot become the prime minister.

"UPA members are saying a tea vendor cannot become the prime minister. It is for the people to decide if a tea vendor will become the prime minister or not, but it is still better than a person who sells the country," he said.

Agarwal, a Rajya Sabha member from the SP, said Wednesday: "Narendra Modi says he used to sell tea. He wants to be prime minister now. A tea vendor can never have a national outlook."

The Samajwadi Party extends outside support to the UPA government.

Attacking Rahul Gandhi, Modi said said the Congress vice president wanted to bring change but his party was responsible for the present situation.

"The prince says I want to change the system... Ask him who ruled the country for 60 years," Modi said.

Dear Satish Kunder, Mangalore/Kuwait, your comment itself is more clear that you are one of blind congress supporter, you may enjoying your life in Kuwait.good luck to you, But you can't imagine peoples struggle in India. Yes, with strong world I can say MMS is one of the "WEEK" PM which India ever had, you say he is two times in the office, in the democracy can he ever contested even the Municipality election...No.. not at all. When sincere IAS officer like Mr Parekh was complaining about the robbery of India(Colgate)his reply was nonsense, I think you know very well. He is one of the Puppat. After few years even Congress people also never remember him like P V Narasimha Rao, they wanted Gandhi Sir name even Varun Gandhi also OK for them. When u talk about Khandhar, that was 150 more passengers life saved, where you people killed more than 150 innocent people (inside the country)in Mumbai in 2008.

    Dear Mr. Satish Kumar, Mangalore

This is another example how the people with Sangh background go personal when people do not agree with their opinion.

I would not make any political comment except to advise you not to make any personal comments. Are you the only man who knows about the people’s struggle in India? I have seen the days when electricity was not there, walked a long way to go to school, bicycle was considered as a luxury then.

Your comment about my Kuwait life is in very bad taste as you think money is the enjoyment. You think people working abroad do not have a heart for the poor. I should tell you that most of the people working abroad spend some of their hard earned money in social commitments on poor back home. I do not like to use this forum to explain you what social commitments I do back home.

Unless you are sure of the background of the people do not make sweeping comments.

Today people can remember MMS was a good "Finance Minister, but not the Prime minister" he is the one week PM in Indian History, he is utter failed as a PM. Just imagine 22 collation parties, but one leader that was "ABV" still people will remember him. Yes, as u are a Congress men, you will justify him, but voters already rejected him in their mind.

    Dear Mr. Satish Kumar, Mangalore,

First of all I would like to clarify that I am not a member of any party but admire Congress Philosophy. It is a different matter that many in the Congress itself do not follow it.

When Vajapeyi was the PM I had commented in the same blog that he was the weakest PM of India but that time I was laughed off by Sangh supporters. I was right when he was rejected by the people in 2004. Many of his failures include, he was clueless till Pakistan occupied Kargil, could not take action on the chief minister who was not following Raja Dharma, Kandahar fiasco, India shining was without real shine and the list goes on.

You seem to be strong JanaSanghi and hence still consider Vajapeyi as great PM. Having said that I personally like him for his oratory skills, respect for others and the highway corridor project.

You say Dr. Singh is rejected by the people. Which people? He is the PM for last 10 years (two times in the office). Let us wait till 2014 election. I reiterate that Dr. Singh is one of the best PM India had. He is sincere, hardworking, gentle, statesman and intelligent.

Sanghis, including you have different opinions and you try to defame him using all of the vocabulary but can you take his qualities away?

Parties have succeeded in one thing. Making individuals, ( the citizens) hate each other. This is evident in the letters. Only hatred is being spread. It is time one realizes this and return to their former selves. No one will succeed in this hate atmosphere for sure. All are taken for a joy ride. Show your best citizens and rise above party level.

Sorry Rosario I cannot agree with you on this and here is why :

If the UPA is defeated then in all probability the BJP will come to power and if so it will be with Modi as PM even if you do not wish so, as there is no credible third party or challenger on an all India basis in Indian politics as yet. Moreover voting for any third party will dilute Congress votes thus indirectly benefitting Modi's BJP.

Further there is no political party who are saints. We have seen the corruption the BJP did in Karnataka and we have seen what they did when they were at the centre - basically nothing good.

Modi is no superman okay. He has a very shameful track record.

So good or bad the lesser evil of the two in my judgement is definitely the Congress/UPA in 2014 irrespective of who the PM is, Nitish Kumar, Rahul, Diggi, Chidambaram, Jairam Ramesh etc.etc.

MY VOTE AND MY ENTIRE FAMILY AND EXTENDED FAMILY'S VOTE IS DEFINITELY FOR THE CONGRESS !

Keeping huge deficit in Gujarat affects the whole economy of India.

You should thank Dr. Manmohan Singhji for sustaining the economy of India where in the economies of the world nations had been tumbled and suffering from the collapse of the economy. India is far, far, better.

Even today we are sustaining the 4th largest economy in the world because of diligent, relentless, sleepless nights works of congressmen.

See the overall growth rate of NDA in 5 years and see the overall growth rate of UPA in ten years.

BJP and Congress is more or less like Pakistan and India neighbors. Congress plays the part of India and BJP that of Pakistan. Why? In Pakistan nobody knows who is in control and institutions play their own part like an army, ISI and political leadership. Isn't it similar to BJP leadership? Whereas in India, army plays its role and Govt plays its own role, exactly like PM Singh and Sonia. They don't exceed the limits. Pakistan has a disturbing history and practice, yet, it uses every opportunity to claim India is at wrong. Isn't it BJP is doing the same? Pakistan never admits to its mistakes, despite impeccable evidences, yet it denies everything. Isn't it same with BJP? Freeing Hafeez Seed, that to accompanied by Jaswant Singh, is a clinching evidence of BJP's capability dealing with terrorism. There are several parallels one can draw between BJP and pakistan. It is high time for BJP to re-invent itself or go the pakistan way as a failed state.

Dear Declan: When I study the present scenario of the campaign, I honestly feel we need a change.
I was a devoted Congress supporter
throughout my life except the past
    couple of years.
    We need a change.
The scams like coal gate, 2G, CWG,
    Rail gate, Chopper, Adarsh etc
are the broader network which poor
villagers do not understand or bothered. They are worried about their ration, groceries & vegetable. The hate speeches touch
them quickly & they are the basic voters in quantum.
But BJP is not an alternative.
Look at L.K.Advani, a person who called Jinnah a secular. He is against Modi's PM candidature. But
he is helpless otherwise he will be Cornered/Ignored.
Look at Yeddy, a BJP CM, screwed Karnataka, left the Party, started
KJP got defeated and wants to come back.?
    Look at Gujarat's 2002......
    All are opportunists.
Look at America refusing VISA because they are convinced he is a butcher. They don't want him to create problems in US, as they have lots, lots Gujarat richest landlords, business, wholesale/retailers.
If Modi goes to US & poison these people, US is in trouble.
You want this man as our PM.?
Well, we argue and debate here based on some facts, but the remote villagers who easily gets carried away by these speeches
    Without knowing the background facts.
I have a feeling BJP may come to power this time, but will not last more than one year.
A defeat to UPA is a must.
But Mody as a PM, 'NO'.

But it is sure that this mantra chai chai will help Modi to a great extent in his crusade against the Congress rule.
I am immensely proud about this chaiwala nominated future PM of a great nation...
    Jai Hind...
    Jai Modiji...
    Jai chaiwalas .....

Was it a crime to sell tea? Is it in the constitution that a tea vendor can not become the Prime Minister of India? Please find dignified ways to criticise him and not these cheap comments which will reflect on the person making such comments. In India, every citizen has a right to present himself or herself for any post he or she thinks is fit. It is for the people to accept or reject that person. It is a pity that almost every party is indulging in personal attacks. Poor leadership!

Don't be hypocrites. Very convenient to be ive in criticism. I have seen many Modi chelas here on DW in the past using the word 'Italian Waitress' referring to Sonia Gandhi's past stint in that job. Tell me, is it a crime to be a waitress ? Now just because Modi is being attacked with the 'Chaiwala' title suddenly all Modi chelas here have started talking about 'dignity of labour'. Is this not hypocrisy ? Are these not cheap comments ? Tell me why cannot a waitress become PM if a chaiwala can ? Tell me does the constitution deny a citizen of India either by birth or 'naturalized' the right to become PM ? You are damn right let the people of this country decide who will be PM, not some Sanghis.

Good thinking but who will decide what the standards should be and who will control them ?

Our politicians definitely are not setting any good standards.

Mr. Modi when it comes to you, it pinches you. Who started tirade against Sonia, Rahul Gandhi, Manmohan Singh and the Congress at large. You a have the penchant to criticize to anyone opposed to your style of functioning by calling names. I have been hearing your speeches which are full of sarcasm and venom. Better you desist from this and concentrate on economic policies and development (not on Gujarat model) put forward your ideas as to what you will do if elected PM. Automatically people will not bother tracking you.

He is addressed as 'Monkey', 'Raavan', 'Mouse' and the latest ' Sick Beast'!!!!

This is OK for Pseudo-Secularists, 7 khoon maaf for Congress!

Anybody including a chai wallah can be the Prime Minister. But in due course he should have gained the knowledge and maturity to lead a country as diverse as ours. Every speech of his is a rant that would make the front benchers clap and whistle. Can this sustain into governance of a country. I doubt. His language... atrocious. Imagine him speaking at a United Nations forum.... Mithro... yeh congress ke shehzade... bla bla. For God's sake I dont mind him in the national politics, as long as he can take the whole nation together, and speak like a civilized person.

Everybody can aspire to become Prime Minister of the country. However the person should have tolerance, quality and intelligence to take all the people together. He should be truthful, should follow Indian culture to respect people even if they are his adversaries.

People come from different background and naturally original background remains with the person. But when aspiring to be a Prime Minister of the country the person should cultivate the qualities required for the post. If a person still behaves as a next person in the street then he falls too short of the qualities to become the prime minister.

Best example of the quality of the prime minister is our present Prime Minister Mr. Singh who is gentle, intelligent, statesman and never hurts his adversaries even when they heckle him. Not only that he is sincere and hardworking, he does all his work quietly without any publicity or big talk.

It is not important from what background the person come up in life but what good qualities he brought along with him is important.

    Dear Mr. Dinesh Poojary,

Do you mean to say that corruption, inflation & Rupee depreciation can be controlled by long fiery speeches and talking loudly? Do you think there is anybody else who knows more than our Prime Minister regarding economics?

You say there is no security to the nation- Kindly do not insult our soldiers. Our country is well protected in the hands of our capable military establishment.

You say law and order is zero – Law and order becomes zero when the chief of the government connives with rioters and goondas in killing his own people. I have not seen our honest Prime Minister does such things. On the contrary he has taken all people along.

Our PM is well respected all over the world as great economist and World will never laugh at us till he is in the helm of affairs.

These Feku supporters have spread so much misinformation about him and sadly some people have fallen for it. Bust trusts me, MMS has HUGE fan following even to this day and will be a successful PM for a third term if he chooses to nominate himself.
