'Kochadaiiyaan' slated to release Jan 10, 2014

Chennai, Nov 15 (IANS): Superstar Rajinikanth-starrer "Kochadaiiyaan" is readying for theatrical release Jan 10, 2014, while its music is likely to be unveiled in December, based on the availability of its composer A.R. Rahman.

"Our co-producer Murali Manohar has zeroed in on Jan 10 as the release date of 'Kochadaiiyaan', which is inching closer to completion," the film unit's spokesperson told IANS.

'The film's audio is likely to be unveiled on Rajinikanth's birthday Dec 12 or on some other day in the same month. We have to check with A.R. Rahman on his availability," added the spokesperson.

The film was earlier scheduled to be released on the superstar's birthday.

Directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth, the film also features Deepika Padukone, Jackie Shroff, R. Sarath Kumar, Aadi Pinisetty, Shobana, Rukmini Vijaykumar and Nassar.

"Kochadaiiyaan" is touted to be the first movie to be shot with motion capture in 3D, along the lines of Hollywood films "Tin Tin" and "Avatar". Motion capture is a process by which actions of human actors are recorded and then used to animate digital character models.

The film has been jointly produced by Eros International and Media One Global Entertainment.
