Kenneth Cole launches store in Delhi

New Delhi, Nov 16 (IANS): American designer Kenneth Cole was here to mark the official launch of his namesake brand in the country Friday night.

The Kenneth Cole brand is marketed and distributed in India by Reliance Brands. His store was launched at The Lodhi.

Cole expressed his delight on his maiden visit to India and thanked people for giving him a warm welcome. He also commented on how interesting it has been for him to see India juxtapose its beautiful embroidery work and craftsmanship with western sensibilities.

The opening of the store witnessed a showcasing of 'Your Point Of View Depend On Your Points Of View', the brand's spring-summer 2014 collection.

The line showcased polished street wear that mixes leisurewear and sportswear, and brings colour and texture into a traditional urban aesthetic. There was a mix of textures and patterns, with graphic elements.

Names like Malini Ramani, Rohit Bal, Tarun Tahiliani, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Varun Bahl, Mandira Wirk and Koel Purie came together to raise a toast and celebrate with the designer.

On Sunday, Cole will be in Mumbai to be a part of the country's inaugural fundraisung event by Foundation for AIDS Research, amfAR. He is chairman of amfAR.
