Anna Hazare raises questions on AAP election funds

New Delhi, November 19 (DHNS) : Social activist Anna Hazare has once again completely disapproved the electoral path of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal and asked through a letter whether the party is using funds collected for Lokpal Movement in the election campaign.

The mentor of the AAP leader has also queried whether the party is still collecting funds in his name.

A hurt and upset Kejriwal on Monday, with Prashant Bhushan and Manish Sisodia, hurriedly called a press conference to release Anna’s letter and his response to it. He demanded a thorough investigation into the charge by Justice Santosh Hegde or a person carrying similar image.

“If Justice Hegde finds any instance of defalcation in the finds of the Jan Lokpal Movement or its use for the party, I will withdraw my candidature from the Delhi Assembly elections,” Kejriwal said in his reply to Hazare.

Kejriwal also said if no wrongdoing is found in the probe, Hazare should come to canvass for the AAP.

He has rushed trusted associate and AAP leader Kumar Vishwas to Ralegan Siddhi carrying his reply to Hazare, whom he termed as his “guru”.

Kejriwal, in his letter to the noted activist, has clarified that no funds collected for the Lokpal Movement are being used for elections and also his name is not being used in elections either for canvassing or collecting funds.

Kejriwal said whatever had been collected for the Lokpal Movement was spent for it .
The money collected could not be used for elections as it would be a violation of Income Tax laws. Already facing an inquiry by the Union Home Ministry over allegations of collecting funds from abroad in violation of the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act, AAP leaders said an open investigation should be conducted to settle the issue forever.

“There have been a number of investigations into the funds of India Against Corruption (IAC) and organisations run by its activists, including that of Manish Sisodia’s Kabir. We have come clear of all the charges related to funds,” said Prashant Bhushan.

In his reply, Kejriwal expressed his pain over the question raised by the social activist and reminded him of the sequence of events related to the audit of the funds collected for the Jan Lokpal Movement and said that accounts had been checked at his instance and discussed in the core committee meeting of India Against Corruption, which had spearheaded the movement. The reply reminded him that his own team had gone into the accounts.

He also clarified that Hazare’s query on the assertion of the AAP that it would pass a Jan Lokpal Act at Ramleela Maidan and said that it would be state level law limited to Delhi. “Vested interests are posting wrong information to Anna,” said Kejriwal.

One of Mr. Arvind Kejriwal’s close friends, now settled in the U.S. earning over US$ 25,000/- per month once stated the following in the Times of India. If Mr. Kejriwal had any greed for money, he would have gone to the U.S. ahead of him and by now would have been 10 times better off than him. According to him Kejriwal was more brilliant and more talented in comparison to most of his batch mates. Mr. Kejriwal is the one who had kicked a once in a lifetime opportunity of minting money. Instead he chose to remain in India and serve the people of his country which I believe he is doing today.

I don’t understand why people are so suspicious about him when he is fighting for the betterment of the nation, for uplifting the poor and justice for the oppressed. The people of our country had always been in the habit of supporting one party throughout their lives, irrespective of their leaders’ involvement in scams or shortcomings. It’s time now or never, that in the interest of the nation, people need to change their mindset if they are genuinely interested in bringing a change for the better, we must give an opportunity to new young and sincere leaders like Mr. Arvind Kejriwal.

When Kejriwal is taking forward issues with an effort for implementation by forming a party after Anna was pocketed by Congress, any Indian worth his salt should give AAP an opportunity.

My personal opinion is that AAP definitely deserves a chance. I am sure even if they follow the ethics of other parties, which is 'Loot when you are in power', they will not be able to loot as much as Cong & BJP did in 65 years? So why not try them once? Who knows it might change the destiny of our country once and for all??

Anna Hazare exposed congress for clean politics. But his own companions betray Anna Hazare for their selfish goal. The questions raised by Anna to Aravind Khejrewal should make voters think twice No Confidence about the AAM ADMI Party. It is now clear that these parties and leaders come and go but CONGRESS stands steady, sensible and reliable ten times better than others.

Jossey...don't comment just for the sake of commenting. People are not idiots here to read your rubbish comments. Be careful while commenting about Kejriwal. He is person of principles and he can't be compared to your corrupt congis and BJP. We need more Kejriwals but sad to see some people want to be in the same $#!t that of pig always prefers same pond. We need a change and Kejriwal can bring that change. Congress/BJP or any other regional parties have their own motives and they can't be trusted. First Kejriwal's party should win Delhi Assembly elections and based on his performance in Delhi, rest of India should follow the suit. All clean politicians from Congress/BJP or any other party should join hands with Kejriwal for strong India.

And please dont drag Kiran Bedi's name she is a very honest sincere and a kind human being and for 100% sure she will never support a Feku and a human butcher.

Scamgress has Haunted Anna enough that even he has slowly started speaking in Politician terms nowadays. Am sure there is someone who is giving the key to Anna to all these small small bombs on the election eve.
To set the system straight you have to get in to the system which what Arvind Kejriwal is doig and he is doing right. Only fasting and agitating will nto solve problems. Congress doing all it can to de-rail this whole anti-corruption Champaign. We have hope if not majority even if AAP gets a small number of seats and if it forms a mandatory part of the ruling Govt, much of corruption can be controlled .
