Jamshedpur, Apr 12: The Indian team has forgotten the 'Sourav Ganguly episode' and was now looking forward to next year's World Cup in the West Indies with a clutch of youngsters doing well in the side, according to stand-in skipper Virender Sehwag.
"Of course," Sehwag replied when asked whether it would be pertinent to forget the Ganguly episode and look ahead after the Indian team's recent stupendous run, including the decisive 4-0 lead in the ongoing one-day series versus England.
"We have already forgotten that. We are now looking forward to the World Cup. That was the past. Now, with so many youngsters in the team, we are looking ahead," Sehwag said at the pre-match media conference ahead of the sixth one-dayer against England.
Sehwag refused to comment on whether Ganguly stood a chance of making it back to the Indian team for the World Cup.
"That is a decision to be taken by the selectors," he said.
Ganguly, who led team India to the final in the last World Cup, was dropped from the one-day side last year. The move resulted in widespread protests, with former players and the media assailing the national selectors.
