Mangalore, Apr 12: Deputy chief minister B S Yediyurappa on Tuesday April 11 inspected the ongoing work at the new runway at Bajpe airport on his from Honnavar to Bangalore.
Airport director M R Vasudeva explained B S Yediyurappa about the ongoing works at the airport.
The new runway works are going on full swing and already concreting work has been completed. However, installation of lights and other necessary works are yet to be completed before the runway is ready for use.
Yediyurappa who also holds the post of finance minister in the state cabinet said that all necessary help including the monitory help will be provided in upgrading the airport to international standards. He also said that all necessary steps will be taken to establish airports at Shimoga, Mysore and Belgaum in the coming years.
MLAs Yogish Bhat and Krishna Palemar were also present on the occasion.
