Bangalore, April 12: The eyes of Kannada superstar Rajkumar have been donated to an eye bank as per his wish, the actor's personal physician Dr Ramana Rao said.

Dr Bhujanga Shetty of Narayana Nethralaya, Bangalore, performed the surgery soon after Rajkumar passed away, Rao said.

The funeral will take place at Rajkumar's farm house on Mysore Road on Thursday, as the family members are waiting for his son and actor Shivarajkumar, who is away in Hampi in Bellary district for a film shoot.

Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, former prime minister H D Deve Gowda, state ministers and film personalities have visited Rajkumar's residence to pay their tributes.

"I tried to bring him back to acting even after his surgery but he refused. One quality that I will always remember him for is his respect for all age groups," actor Kamala Hasan told CNN-IBN.

Rajkumar is survived by his wife, Parvathamma, three sons Shivarajkumar, Raghavendra Rajkumar and Puneeth Rajkumar and two daughters.

Meanwhile, Opposition leader L K Advani has cancelled the Karnataka leg of his Bharat Suraksha Yatra after holding a meeting with party leaders Pramod Mahajan and Ananthkumar.

The yatra will commence from Ananthpur in Andhra Pradesh on April 16.
