French, German illustrators to attend Kolkata workshop

Kolkata, Nov 25 (IANS): Illustrators, comic and graphic artists from France, Germany and India will interact with students and enthusiasts at the maiden International Kolkata Comic Workshop beginning here Tuesday.

Organised by the French and German consulates, the workshop marks the 2013 Franco-German year which celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Elysee treaty.

Participating artists are Sarnath Banerjee and Charbak Dipta from India, Jorg Reuter from Germany, and Oliver Tallec from France, the organisers said in a statement.

Tallec is well known as an illustrator of children's books while Reuter is associated with Germany's longest running monthly comic book series Mosaik.

The Kolkata-born Banerjee, who resides in Germany, illustrates book covers and novels while graphic designer Dipta is gearing up to launch his new comic book for kids under his company Village Comics at the Annual Comic Con.
