Pakistan court adjourns hearing on Zardari case


Islamabad, Nov 26 (IANS): A court in Pakistan has exempted former president Asif Ali Zardari from appearance at a hearing in corruption cases against him.

An accountability court also adjourned the next hearing till Dec 9, Dawn News reported Tuesday.

The bench of the court, comprising judge Mohammad Bashir, also directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to provide Zardari's counsel with copies of the references filed against him.

Advocate Farooq H. Naek, appearing for Zardari, assured the court that his client would appear in the next hearing.

The court exempted Zardari from appearing for the hearing Tuesday as he was out of the country but ordered his presence in the next hearing.
