Highlights of BJP's manifesto for Delhi polls


New Delhi, Nov 26 (IANS): The state unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Tuesday (Nov 26) released its manifesto for the Dec 4 assembly polls in Delhi. Following are the key points:

* Make Delhi a full-fledged state, set up a Lokayukta to battle corruption.

* Control vegetable prices in 30 days, 12 subsidized cylinders in a year.

* Thirty percent reduction in power tariff.

* Clean, adequate drinking water for all.

* Regularizing all unauthorised colonies. Providing houses to slum dwellers.

* Fast track courts to be set up to deal with cases related to women. A 24x7 call centre to address women's issues and a dedicated security force for women.

* A universal health insurance cover for Delhiites. Twenty-five types of medicines to be supplied free of cost. Trauma centres to open in each district along with mobile clinics.

* Justice to families of those killed in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots that followed the killing of then prime minister Indira Gandhi.

* More schools and colleges in the capital, 85 percent seats in Delhi colleges would be reserved for students from Delhi.

* Establish monorail to complement Delhi Metro.
