33 injured in cylinder explosion in Kashmir village


Jammu, Nov 27 (IANS): At least 33 people were injured Wednesday, three critically, following the blast of an LPG cylinder during a marriage ceremony in Galighar village of Kishtwar district in Jammu and Kashmir.

"The cylinder exploded all of a sudden, triggering panic and leaving 33 people injured. We shifted all the injured to the Kishtwar district hospital," Kishtwar district magistrate Baseer Khan told IANS by phone.

He said attending doctors referred three critically injured people to Jammu for specialised treatment.

"We airlifted these three to Jammu," he added.

Khan said Rs.2,000 each was given on the spot to all the injured for treatment.
