Gurgaon, Nov 27 (IANS): The District Town Planner (DTP) of Gurgaon in Haryana, will prepare a blueprint of high-rise buildings which will show the premises also on a map that would come of use in a disaster situation, an official said Wednesday.

A blueprint of hazardous industries will also be made by the authorities of the Haryana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (HSIIDC), an official said.

The owners of high-rise structures and hazardous industries located in the district will have to submit a compliance report on safety measures adopted as per guidelines of the state government, issued from time to time, within two months.

The report will have to be submitted to the district revenue officer.

The directions were given by Deputy Commissioner Shekhar Vidyarthi at a meeting called to review disaster preparedness in Gurgaon.

Presiding over the meeting, Vidyarthi directed officers of the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG), Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) and District Town Planner (DTP) to prepare a list of high rise buildings located in the district, and also show these on a map, with alternate routes to the premises in the event of any incident.

The maps could then be put to use to reach the affected area or evacuate premises in case of a disaster.

"A team of officers would be conducting socio-auditing of the buildings to check whether the safety measures are in place or not," an official said, adding that the team, with representatives of the deputy commissioner's office, fire services and other departments would check at least two buildings at random every month.
