V K Singh gets notice over plea to cancel bail

New Delhi, Nov 28 (IANS): A Delhi court Thursday issued notice to former army chief Gen V.K. Singh on a plea filed by a retired army officer seeking cancellation of bail granted to the former chief in a defamation case.

Metropolitan Magistrate Jay Thareja fixed the matter for hearing Dec 9, asking Gen V K Singh to file his reply to the plea.

Lt. Gen. (retd) Tejinder Singh had filed a defamation case against Gen (retd) V.K. Singh. He told the court that despite warnings, the former army chief had been repeatedly making defamatory accusations and remarks against him. These figure even in the former general's recently published book.

The retired senior army officer has requested the court to cancel V.K. Singh's bail, saying he has violated the court's orders.
