Afghan president visiting India in December

New Delhi, Nov 28 (IANS): Afghan President Hamid Karzai is arriving in India, for the second time in six months, in the second week of December to hold talks with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

The Afghan president, who was in India in May for conferment of an honorary doctorate on him by the Jalandhar-based Lovely Professional University, is visiting India again on an invite from Pune's Symbiosis Institute.

Karzai is an honoured guest of India and would meet all sections of the Indian leadership, including the prime minister, the external affairs ministry spokesperson said.

The security situation in Afghanistan in the wake of the drawdown of international forces next year is to figure in the talks.

Afghanistan's request for military supplies, which Karzai had made during his last visit, would also be discussed.
