Udupi, Apr 18: It was only a day ago that state revenue minister Jagdish Shetter had announced that district administrative complex will be built in 15 acres of land at End Point near Manipal here.
Now a few persons have raised strong objection against such a move stating that this will create lot of problems to the people.
Speaking to the reporters former MLA U R Sabhapati said that people have to change two buses to reach End Point. "This is indeed an expensive and arduous job for all. People coming far off areas would find it difficult to reach End Point for immediate jobs," he said.
He further said people's consensus will be taken into consideration and a protest will be staged on Tuesday April 25 in this regard.
The courts' complex, zilla panchayat complex, SP's office, excise bhavan, revenue office etc are in the city itself and it is strange that only deputy commissioner's office will be built at End Point which is 8 kilometres away from the city. "There can be nothing other than some vested interests behind this move," said he.
