Mumbai: Karnataka Sangha to host ‘Bolli Parba’ on Dec 28-29

Mumbai, Dec 5: Karnataka Tulunada Sangh Regd., Sangli-Miraj, a significant organization that has been striving to promote Tulu in the interiors of Maharashtra is at the threshold of silver jubilee celebrations.

The Sangh will celebrate the silver jubilee in its first ever ‘Tulu Bhavan,’ an own building by presenting ‘Bolli Parba’ a cultural extravaganza from Saturday December 28 to Sunday December 29.

The union petroleum and energy minister M Veerappa Moily will inaugurate the programme here on Saturday afternoon.

All India Tulu Federation president Dharmapal U Devadiga will preside the function. Udupi-Chikmagalur MP Jayaprakash Hegde, Sangli MP Prateek Patil, Karnataka former (Karkala) MLA H. Gopal Bhandary will be the chief guests of the occasion. Maharashtra minister Patangarao Kadam will release the commemorating bulletin ‘Tulu Bolli.’

Professor Dr Sunita M. Shetty, Ratna Kumar, S.K.Haleyangady and Ba Samaga Delhi will be conferred with ‘Tulu Ratna,’ for their extraordinary contributions to Tulu.  Besides, ‘Tulu Seva Puraskar,’ will be presented to 10 top Tulu organizations functioning in all over the country.  ‘Shresta Tuluva Puraskar will be presented to distinguished personalities who contributed their mite in sustenance of Tulu on the same occasion.

A seminar on Tulu sustenance will be held in the presence of office bearers of individual units of All India Tulu Federation here on Sunday December 29 morning.  The consensus will be reached to urge the government to rename Dakshina Kannada district as Tulunad district, stated Karnataka Tulunada Sangh Regd,Sangli-Miraj president Ln Divakar Shetty and Silver jubilee celebration Committee President Srinivas Mankude in a joint media release.
