Kejriwal will be Delhi CM one day: Anna Hazare

New Delhi/Mumbai, Dec 8 (IANS): Social activist Anna Hazare said Sunday he was "glad" the Aam Aadmi Party's Kejriwal was "winning" and that "one day" be would be the Delhi chief minister.

"I am glad Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party is winning. One day, he will be the chief minister of Delhi," Hazare told reporters in Ralegan Siddhi as the counting trends of the votes cast in the Delhi assembly elections indicated a strong debut by the AAP.

"Kejriwal should not take support from any party in Delhi. Let there be a re-election. The results show that the Congress is being punished by the people. Delhi 'andolan' has helped AAP," he added.

Earlier in the day, he said Kejriwal would do good work sitting in the opposition.

"I believe that Arvind Kejriwal will do good work in the opposition and will provide right direction to the government," Hazare told a news channel in Ralegan Siddhi.

"Defeating Sheila Dikshit is not an easy thing. People gave their mandate," he said.

Dikshit, Delhi's chief minister for 15 years, resigned Sunday after the Congress was routed in the elections. She is herself set to lose to Kejriwal.

Dikshit submitted her resignation to Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung as the vote count showed the Congress may not win even 10 seats in the 70-member assembly.

    When the going is good for Aam Admi Party now even the same man who was spoiling the chances of Arvind Kejriwal by making baseless statements has the audacity to come out and now say after seeing the outcome that Arvind will be the Chief Minister of Delhi one day. He need not give advice to Arvind to sit in the opposition. There are learned advisers in the party to make decisions. Anna seeks publicity and media attention. Now the way he is commenting is as if he was greatly supported AAP party from the very beginning but in fact he was all out to spoil AAP chances and was tacitly supporting the BJP. He and Kiran are a BJP moles as Agnivesh was of the Congress.

    If you would have opened your mouth before election, he might be the CM by now, you did not left any stone un-turned against him to spoil his name. I agree you are truly a politician!!!!!

    You know only to do 'Fake' hunger strike and you know that the media will support you. But Kejriwal did not stopped where you stopped. The Real fight had started then, where you already accepted defeat. Now your turn either you support Kejriwal or retired from what you are doing (Did nothing). When Kejriwal become Chief Minister, he will remember you for abondoning him in the middle and you will keep on doing 'fake' hunger strike against Kejriwal.
