We are ready for fresh elections: Kejriwal

New Delhi, Dec 11 (IANS): AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal Wednesday said his party was ready for fresh elections, and chided the BJP for not forming a government despite being the largest party in the Delhi assembly.

Addressing a public meeting after the Aam Aadmi Party won a stunning 28 seats in the 70-member house, Kejriwal also said that AAP's web site would be opened for donations for the next assembly polls in Delhi.

"We are prepared to fight the elections again," Kejriwal said.

Kejriwal did not talk about the party's plans for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls but many other AAP leaders referred to it.

The Bharatiya Janata Party won 31 seats while the Congress, after ruling the city for 15, ended with eight seats.

Kejriwal said the BJP and Congress should form a government as they had the numbers to notch up a majority in the Delhi assembly.

"The BJP and Congress are two sides of the same coin... They have got seats and should jointly form a government."

He said if the BJP fails to form a government despite 31 seats, people should regard it as a failure and not support it any further.

He urged members in Congress and the BJP who feel suffocated to join the one-year-old AAP.

Apart from Kejriwal, the meeting at Jantar Mantar was attended by other party leaders including newly elected legislators.
