Telangana bill reaches Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Dec 12 (IANS): The bill for formation of separate Telangana state reached Hyderabad Thursday evening, officials said.

A senior official of the union home ministry reached Hyderabad along with the bill by a special aircraft. He drove to state secretariat and handed over the bill to Chief Secretary P. K. Mohanty.

The bill was brought to the secretariat in five bundles. It was not clear if the bill would be sent to Andhra Pradesh governor or the assembly speaker.

The union cabinet Dec 5 had approved draft Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill 2013 and the same was sent to the President Pranab Mukherjee for referring to the assembly. The assembly has been reportedly asked to send back the bill with its comments in 40 days.
