12 land mines recovered in Jharkhand

Ranchi, Dec 12 (IANS): At least 12 land mines were Thursday recovered in Jharkhand's Latehar district, police said.

Police said the land mines were planted by Maoist guerrillas in the Patki jungle in Manika region, around 130 km from Ranchi.

This is the same jungle where Maoist guerrillas detonated a land mine blast Wednesday in which four policemen were injured.

Maoist guerrillas are active in 18 of the 24 districts in the state.
