Three policemen killed in Pakistan blast


Islamabad, Dec 16 (IANS): At least three policemen were killed and two others injured when a bomb exploded near a bomb disposal unit's vehicle in Pakistan's northwest Peshawar city Monday morning.

Urdu TV channel Samaa said the vehicle with five policemen on board was on its way to the outskirts of the city when it came under attack in Budhber area of Peshawar, the capital city of the country's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Xinhua reported.

Police said the bomb disposal unit members were on their way to determine the nature of a low intensity blast in Suleman Khel area when their vehicle was targeted by a roadside planted device.

The injured policemen were shifted to a nearby hospital where their condition is said to be stable.

No group has claimed responsibility for the blast so far.
