Jayaram Bhat of Karn Bank wins Best Banker award

New Delhi, Dec 19: P Jayaram Bhat, managing director and chief executive officer of Karnataka Bank has been chosen for the prestigious T A Pai Memorial “Best Banker” award instituted by “Dehali Kannadiga” a Kannada monthly published in Delhi.

M B Samaga, editor of the magazine said that the award including a citation and plaque will be given to Bhat for his distinguished contribution to the banking field, at the 31st National Kannada Sammelana to be held in New Delhi on April 5, 2014.

The bankers who have earned this award in the past include Narendra, chairman of Indian Overseas Bank, K R Kamath, chairman of Punjab National Bank, M D Mallya and P S Shenoy, chairmen of Bank of Baroda, C P Swarnakar and D T Pai, chairmen of Syndicate Bank, K N Pruthviraj and T Y Prabhu, chairmen of Oriental Bank of Commerce, K V Kamath, managing director of ICICI, V P Shetty, chairman of IDBI, M S Krishna Bhat and Anantha Krishna, chairmen of Karnataka Bank Ltd, T S Narayana Sami, chairman of Bank of India, R V Shastri, chairman of Canara Bank and T J A Ganiga, chairman of Andhra Bank.
