Environment minister Jayanthi Natarajan quits

New Delhi, Dec 21 (PTI): In a shake up ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Environment Minister Jayanthi Natarajan resigned today from the Union Council of Ministers and more may be in line for being drafted into party work.

The resignation of 59-year-old Natarajan, Minister of State with independent charge of  Environment and Forests, has been accepted by the President, a Rashtrapati Bhavan communique said.

It also said that Oil Minister M Veerappa Moily will hold additional charge of the Environment Ministry.

Natarajan, a senior member of Rajya Sabha doing a third term, hails from Tamil Nadu and was brought into the ministry two years ago.

Sources said Natarajan, who has, of late, been more visible on television channels defending the party, may be drafted for organisation work.

Sources said there could be some more ministers who could resign to be brought to party organisation in preparation for the elections.

Names doing the speculative rounds in this regard are Jairam Ramesh (Rural Development), Sachin Pilot (Corporate Affairs) and Jitender Singh Bhanwar (MoS-Defence).

In the wake of the rout in Rajasthan Assembly elections, Pilot's name is being talked about as a possible PCC chief.

There is also talk of a reshuffle in the AICC in which some general secretaries may be dropped.  Bhanwar, considered close to Rahul Gandhi, is a possible candidate for general secretaryship in the AICC.  He had earlier been an AICC Secretary.

In line for change is PCC chief's post in Haryana which may go to AICC Secretary Ashok Tanwar.

Congress is in panic and in disaster control after suffering from recent tsunami. But it is too late for them. Anyhow as a minister Jayanthi had done nothing and it does not matter whether she is in the ministry or out of it. The same holds good for our Dummy P.M. also. He can also quit and take up (tea) party work. Modi effect is seen everywhere. Congress cannot fool the people in the name of Gandhi family which destroyed our county from progress due to their dynasty politics.

Finally UPA has got up from its slumber and after its decade of decay ( 2004 - 2014 )
Unless it s almost all the ministers of age 65 years above from the cabinet and induct new generation qualified youngsters , UPA cant think of ruling from next May.
The policy paralysis of UPA, demoralize in administrations, poor implementations of accepted policies, poor fiscal planning an handling will prove costly to UPA in coming general Elections.

People gave almost clear majority to Congress in 2009, but it choose to neglect people, Industry and Investment and failed in creating additional jobs specially in manufacturing sector and now facing the reality.
Only a young generation professionals with commitment and accountability may bailout Congress but they have to do paradigm shift from its erstwhile policy's that is infusing new and young blood into the Ministry by replacing all the old guard who are unable to understand or the assess the present administrative requirement of India.
Emulating the CHINA model i.e. appointing the people from age group of 50 to 55 for the Top posts is the only answer.
