  • 'Soorya Shikarige Munna' goes on line

Mangalore, May 1: Kannada's first collection of e-poetry, 'Soorya Shikarige Munna' was launched by well-known poet-columnist Aravinda Chokkadi at the Moodbidri Cyber Place on Sunday, April 30. Journalist Shekar Ajekar has penned the poems.

Poetry is the silence between the two lines, according to Chokkady. While pointing out the plus-points and limitations of a poetry collection, he had high praise for the effort and said the signs of a budding poet were very much present in the collection.

Tulu movie artiste of 'Koti Chennaya' fame Subhaschandra Padival, who presided over the function, said that Shekar's first collection showed that whatever could not be expressed in prose in some cirumstances could be best conveyed in poety form.

Udayavani correspondent Dhananjaya Moodbidri as chief guest decribed this as a rare case were the technology and poetry had a fusion.

Moodbidri Working Journalists' Association president Yathiraj Shetty, Ivan and other journalists were present on the occasion. Poet Shekar Ajekar welcomed the gathering.

The poetry collction has been designed by Vantage Infotech and Vinod Nazareth, with art by Prakash Kabettu.
