Mumbai, Dec 21: Christmas is the symbol of hope while the Christian teachings enable one to live in harmony amidst people of different faith, caste and creed in the society. The members of Christian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) are wealthy, who can contribute for the poor people in the society. Jesus was born in a manger in order to show humility despite his Godly character. The Christian living can get peace and happiness in life, said Auxiliary Archbishop Dr. Bosco Penha of Bombay.
Dr. Bosco was the chief guest during the Christmas Sambram – 2013, Christmas celebrations organized by youth wing of CCCI at Hotel Kohinoor Continental, J B Nagar, Andheri (East) here on Friday December 20 night.
Maharashtra state minority Commission deputy secretary Janet L D’ Souza was the guest of honor.
Speaking on the occasion, Janet said that Christmas is the celebration of joy and happiness. It needs spiritual preparations to celebrate Christmas in the midst of poor and downtrodden in the society, elderly and sick. CCCI has been doing its might in this regard in the past many years. The teachings of Jesus indeed are the guiding star for leading meaningful life on earth, said Janet.
CCCI founder chairman Vincent Mathias, deputy chairmen Antony Sequeira and Albert W D’Souza were present on the stage. CCCI executive secretary Felix D’Souza distributed prizes to the winners. CCCI president Henry Lobo welcomed the gathering. Philomena H Lobo and Elaina A D’Souza presented floral bouquet to the dignitaries. Dr Richard Pereira conducted the stage programme. Martin D’Souza conducted Christmas celebration. Agnello Rajesh N Atheide proposed vote of thanks.
