Mangalore, May 4: Raghavendra Auradkar, Inspector General Police, State Intelligence (Security) has been appointed IGP of Western Range by the state government.
The post was vacant after ADGP K S Suresh Babu retired in the last week. The Western Range includes 4 districts and has its headquarters in the city.
Raghavendra Auradkar, originally from Bidar belongs to the 1987 IPS batch. He is a B.E., M.Tech degree holder.
Ever since he joined the Karnataka police he has served as ASP at Chennapattana, Haveri, and Gulbarga. He was also the Superintendent of Police of Mandya, Shimoga, Gulbarga and Gadag.
Throughout his career he has been hailed for his discipline towards duty and his profession.
