Chilly Monday in Delhi, Tuesday to be similar


New Delhi, Dec 30 (IANS): The national capital experienced a chilly Monday with the minimum temperature settling at five notches below the season's average at 2.4 degrees Celsius. The Met office predicted a similar Tuesday.

"The sky will remain partly clouded. Light rain or thundershowers could occur in some areas till tomorrow noon," said an official of the India Meteorological Department.

Monday's maximum temperature was recorded one notch below average at 19.7 degrees Celsius.

There was rain in some areas in Delhi till 5.30 p.m.

According to Northern Railways, at least five trains were cancelled and 13 were rescheduled due to fog.

Tuesday's maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 19 degrees Celsius and 7 degrees Celsius respectively.

Sunday's maximum temperature was 19.5 degrees Celsius, a notch below average, while the minimum temperature dipped three notches below average at 4.4 degrees Celsius.
