Gas poisoning kills nine in China


Beijing, Jan 1 (IANS): Suspected gas poisoning claimed nine lives in a Chinese village Tuesday, authorities said.

Eight bodies were found in Guizhou province in a house of a villager named Zhang Zelong, Xinhua quoted an official with the government of Weining County, Bijie City as saying.

Police suspected a liquified gas leakage caused the death.
