Udupi, May 8: The couple Ponnuraj and Hemalatha will be the new Deputy Commissioner and Zilla Panchayat CEO respectively. Both will take charge on May 10.

Ponnuraj is presently working as CEO of Bagalkot Zilla Panchayat and Hemalatha is with the rehabilitation department at Upper Krishna project.

The DC’s post was left vacant by T Shyam Bhatt who was transferred to Bangalore few months ago, an as a top-gap arrangement R Shantharaj was given the charge.

Shantharaj was also holding the charge of ZP CEO. Hemalatha has served as assistant commissioner of Kundapur sub-division.
