Kashmir doesn't need more bloodshed in its name: Omar

Jammu, Jan 9 (IANS): Many people have died in the name of Kashmir and the state does not need more blood to be shed over it, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said Wednesday.

The chief minister was reacting to a statement made by his Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) office was attacked by the Hindu Raksha Dal in retaliation to AAP leader Prashant Bhushan's remarks on Kashmir.

"Dear @ArvindKejriwal enough good people have died in the name of Kashmir, it doesn't need more blood shed in its name. Thanks all the same," Omar Abdullah tweeted.

Kejriwal Wednesday condemned the attack on the AAP office and wanted to know if the intention of the attackers was to kill his colleague Bhushan.

"Do they want to murder him (Bhushan)? Is this why they indulged in arson? Do they want to attack me and Bhushan? What do they want," Kejriwal asked the media.

Kejriwal said that both Bhushan and the AAP had clarified his purported comments on army deployment in Kashmir, which sparked a furore.

He said the attackers were free to assault him and Bhushan if they felt that would end the Kashmir dispute. "But violence does not resolve national problems."
