Army foils infiltration bid in Jammu region


Jammu, Jan 13 (IANS): The army Monday foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu region's Poonch district.

Army troops noticed some suspicious movement in Krishna Ghati sector along the LoC in Poonch district of Jammu region Monday morning, a defence spokesman told IANS.

"The infiltration bid was foiled and searches were started after marking off the area where the suspicious movements were noticed," the spokesman said.

He added: "There has been no exchange of fire so far between the troops and the suspected infiltrators in the area."

This is the first infiltration bid by guerrillas in Jammu and Kashmir this year.
