Dhaka, Jan 18 (IANS): Vandals attacked a Hindu temple Saturday in Bangladesh's Pirojpur district and destroyed many idols.
A devotee said the idols in the temple near Nazirpur area were found smashed in the morning, reported bdnews24.com.
The vandals threw pieces of the idols in the courtyard of the temple.
Police, the Rapid Action Battalion and representatives of the district administration have visited the site.
A probe to find those who desecrated the temple is already under way, said A. Khalek, officer-in-charge of Nazirpur police.
