Sunanda's death: Political leaders condole with Tharoor


New Delhi, Jan 19 (IANS): A number of political leaders, including union Finance Minister P. Chidambaram, Sunday reached junior HRD minister Shashi Tharoor's house here to offer their condolences following the sudden demise of his wife, Sunanda Pushkar, in a Delhi hotel.

Pushkar was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a south Delhi hotel room Friday.

Around 10 a.m., Congress member of parliament and former cricketer Mohd. Azharuddin reached Tharoor's house at Lodhi Estate. Rashtriya Lok Manch party leader Amar Singh and Jaya Prada called on him around noon.

Amar Singh told mediapersons that Sunanda was a brave lady and she could not commit suicide.

Chidambaram, union Minister of State for Power Jyotiraditya Madhavrao Scindia and Congress senior leader Pawan Bansal met Tharoor in the afternoon.

Punjab Congress legislator Sunil Jakhar also came late in the evening.
