Kejriwal, ministers protest police inaction

New Delhi, Jan 20 (IANS): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal alongwith his cabinet colleagues Monday held a protest over alleged police inaction after they were prevented from reaching the union home ministry office at the Central Secretariat.

Kejriwal, who became the chief minister last month, and his cabinet colleagues wanted to protest, as planned earlier, outside the union home ministry office in North Block.

But his car was stopped right before Raisina Road, near Rail Bhavan in New Delhi, the seat of the central government.

Police officials tried to persuade the chief minister not to proceed ahead.

A police official said Kejriwal and his colleagues were barred from going ahead at least till noon since the Republic-Day Parade rehearsal was going on.

The Aam Aadmi Party has alleged that policemen did not cooperate with Delhi Law Minister Somnath Bharti during his vigilante-style raid Wednesday night and on Minister Rakhi Birla's complaint concerning "improper action" in a dowry case.

As the drama unfolded, Kejriwal was allowed to move ahead after noon.

However, he and his colleagues decided to begin their protest in a park off Raisina Road.

A posse of police personnel was deployed and there was a double layer of barricading on Rafi Marg and Raisina Road, which leads to North Block of the Central Secretariat.

The day began with Kejriwal and his ministers meeting at the Delhi Secretariat from where they left for North Block, ignoring the prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the Indian Penal Code, that bars any gathering of five or more people.

Other for states assembly election also held along with Delhi election. In that four states, govt was formed and functioning smoothly. But why too much problem in Delhi? why Kejriwal in the news every day. It shows his disability. it is very easy to blame the govt for everything when they are in opposition, but now he realized the difficulties of ruling. Being a CM, it is shame on Kejriwal for participating in the protest.
Why Kejriwal or Delhi need police? AAP ministers and followers are well expert to do moral policing. Central govt have to impose president rule in Delhi, before it goes to worst.

Arvind is behind to drive out corruption. Everything starts from money and end with "money"="corruption", and no other political parties serious on this matter. In the history of India, any culprit has been caught and given life/death sentence for corruption?? There are lot of LOOTMAAR is going on in India, but no resolution.

Whether the Police come under State or Center, they cannot change them in a day or two.
The police shouldn't be under political bosses as they are used by them to gain or pain to the opposition.
Give Independence to Police with them answerable to Impartial Judiciary only.
But they way Law Minister behaved Lawlessly at night is beyond decency while other avenues of Legal Action were available, but will not fetch the AAP any Publicity like these Chaos on which they thrive & got elected by accusing others but not proving anything till today.
File cases on HM Shinde for corruption & prove it, rather than alleging, based on some dubious person's accusations.

Has he studied those two departments before taking decisions?? Does he have any statistics to prove what he is doing right?
All are impulse decisions without any analysis. Any uneducated leader also can do it. We do not need an IIT graduate for this.
Before taking any decision, there has to be a strong research on the subject or else Taxpayer will end up paying all the difference.
He is in a hurry to perform and decisions are impulsive and will not last long.

Logically Delhi police should come under Delhi govt. If Delhi people have some grievance against police then whom to approach ? People who have suffered due to the corrupt Delhi police only can understand the reality & will never disagree with AAP demand .Earlier, when congress was ruling in Delhi, though some things go wrong Delhi govt used to put the blame, saying police is not under their control. Now when AAP takes the law & order of responsibility of Delhi why the central govt is reluctant to hand over control of police to state govt?

    Q. What do you want?
    Ans.To end corruption.

    Q. What will end corruption?

    Q. How do you know?
    Ans. Lord kejriwal says so.

    Q. Why cant he be wrong?
    Ans. He is an IITian.

    Q. So is Manohar Parikar?
Ans. He is evil because Lord Kejriwal says that
BJP and Congress are two sides of the same
    coin.

    Q. But isn't it true that BJP never allied with
    Congress and AAP just did?
Ans. He did a referendum before alliance and
Delhi, wanted him to do so.

    Q. Despite the promise of staying non aligned? Is
it okay if Lord Kejriwal becomes PM with congress support?
Ans. He just promised that he wont contest Lok
    Sabha elections.

    Q. But didn't he also promises to never contest

Arvind Kejriwal has got all the right intentions, but sometimes (only sometimes) he may not be using the best methods to do what he intends doing. Maybe it is because he is not always being properly advised how to go about things. This is understandable as he is new to the 'Administration' side of politics. People must give him time instead of being in a hurry to write him off. I believe he is a quick learner and will soon be back using better ways of doing things.

Indian politics needs a change in the way the systems function. Arvind Kejriwal is the one who has taken the lead in this matter. Even Rahul Gandhi was impressed with Kejriwal.

Nothing wrong with protesting, but as CM of Delhi Kejriwal needs to explore better options of doing it using all his powers of CM. Protesting the way he is now could result in a chaotic situation similar to the 'Janta Darbar' case.

Arvind must use every ounce of his power as CM to bring the guilty police to book. He has to find a better way and I hope he succeeds in that.
