OIC condemns Kabul terrorist attack

Jeddah, Jan 21 (IANS/WAM): Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Iyad Ameen Madani, has strongly condemned the Jan 17 terrorist attack in Kabul which left at least 21 civilians dead and scores of others wounded.

In a statement issued Monday, he expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and prayed for the quick recovery of those wounded.

The secretary general further reiterated that no reason whatsoever could justify the killing or wounding of civilians in such a cruel way.

He reaffirmed the OIC's position in supporting the government of Afghanistan in its endeavour to fight terrorism and extremism, and called on Afghan authorities to bring the perpetrators of this act of terror to justice.
