Pleasant Friday in Delhi, cloudy Saturday expected


New Delhi, Jan 24 (IANS): Delhi experienced a pleasant Friday despite the maximum temperature recorded at 18 degrees Celsius, three notches below the season's average. A cloudy day is likely Saturday, said the met department.

The maximum and the minimum temperatures Saturday are likely to hover around 18 and 9 degrees Celsius respectively.

The day will start with shallow fog in the morning while the sky throughout the day is expected to remain cloudy, said an official of the India Meteorological Department(IMD).

Friday morning started with shallow fog in the morning which cleared as the day progressed.

According to the Northern Railways, nine trains were re-scheduled and 25 trains were running late due to the foggy weather in the northern states of the country.

However the flights operated normally without any delay or cancellation, said the spokesperson of the Indira Gandhi International Airport.

Friday's minimum temperature was recorded at 11 degree Celsius, three notches above the season's average.

Thursday's minimum temperature was recorded at 13.5 degrees Celsius, six notches above the season's average, while the maximum temperature settled at 20.1 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season's average.
