It's a conspiracy to defame me: Somnath Bharti

New Delhi, Jan 25 (IANS): Law minister Somnath Bharti, who courted controversy over his action against an alleged sex-and-drugs ring, Saturday said that the allegations against him are false and it is a "conspiracy to defame" him.

The minister said that Delhi Commission for Women's (DCW) move against him was "politically motivated".

"Barkha Singh is a member of Congress and acting against me for a political motive," Bharti said.

Bharti Friday failed to appear before the women's panel probing his action after which the commission said they would report the matter to Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung.

"All allegations against me are false. It's a conspiracy to defame me," the law minister told reporters.

He added: "Its absolutely wrong and pathetic. Everything is wrong."

Bharti did not heed the summons of the women's commission and instead sent his lawyers as representatives.

The law minister alongwith Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) volunteers Jan 16 raided some homes of African nationals in south Delhi for allegedly running "sex and drug racket".

The minister said he took the action following representations made by the Resident Welfare Association.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal defended Bharti and also held a sit-in in the heart of Delhi for over 30 hours demanding action against those policemen who did not heed his minister. Kejriwal ended his protest after Jung appealed to him and also sent the two policemen on leave.

Erratic person like Somnath Bharati is not a suitable person for the post of any ministers in the cabinet.Whether he is misused by the party as an experiment to show the head strong attitude of the AAP government or he does because of misusing his powers as minister.Thanq.

One of the modules operandi is to send personal messages to Facebook users. Most of times blonde women , with the characteristics and emails in detail. If anyone replys it , they will be fished with a price. Even after the encounter those girls can trap men with fake sexual assault complaints if not given a huge amount of money. And those are into drug overdose can attract poor labours or even street hawkers and later, after having a relationship can trap calling it as 'assault' even its the consented one. Media picks it up and labels it as atrocities against women. Most of the cases r like above even may be related to danish woman. Poor chap arrested and now facing trial.

It is deplorable that Women's commission is fighting for the Rights of Prostitutes and Drug Traffickers from Uganda & Nigeria. Why no one has noticed that even we have Ugandan & a Nigerian drug mafia even in Manipal and Mangalore around famous professional colleges.

If a Law Minister accuses others for his violation of the Laws of the Land, then I think his Law Certificate is fake, needs to be probed.
If videos are the media of accusations & justification or Trial, then Bharti is a convict as well.
Those who support the raid after viewing these unverified videos & accuse Media for their transgression of Law then If Bajarang Dal does the same, then why accuse them & put them behind bars even before a trial in Court.
Its Free For All or Kangaroo Justice seems to be the Aap Agenda whom most of our Learned Leaders want as well.
Never know when they realise their mistake, just like Mangalore voters learned the Hard way.

I agree 100 percent with somanath bharthi. The some of so called african nationals are most of times nuisance in india and most of them are scamsters and drug traffickers. Mr somanath has support of khirki extensions residents , peaple who elected support him , so there is no question of media outrage.

The so called womens group is a joke often manipulated by political reason. AAP exposed the real reason behind delhi assault cases which is more of drug reason. Its very well be the reason that women indulge in narcotics and get intimate , later falsely implicate men of sexual assault. Anti men laws will work only in favour of women. It takes ministry for men to pinpoint these issues , i hope AAP will be fair towards implementing it in coming years.

Having a prejudice against a community just because some or many of them indulge in unlawful activities is a racial/communal attitude. This is wrong.

Crime does not have a colour, race, religion, gender, language, etc.

All political parties are doing their best to defame AAP as they are afraid after witnessing the popularity of this party! Just like Bangalore and Goa, Delhi is also controlled by these African prostitution and drug racket and police are getting their share to give a blind eye! Shame on central Govt and the police for supporting criminal activities and blaming AAP for the raid and blowing up the matter out of proportion! When hundreds of rapes are going on in Delhi, police is not bothered and when a suspected African group is raided everybody started to become very sentimental and concerned!
